Wellness Hack: Intermittent fasting
I’m all about keeping it simple in January – it can be such a miserable month, or at least it can be for me. I’ve overindulged (never fail!), become lazy and ready for a new year. However, this year I couldn’t wait to get back to work, I love my job so much but as always, I felt a bit sluggish. I decided that still drinking the odd glass of red wine almost mid-January is ok.
There’s so much going on right now. Why can’t we go at a pace that works for us and not get sucked up into the ‘New Year, New Me’ pressure? By mid-January I will usually decide that it’s time to start taking better care of myself.
After a trillion diets over the years (not just for losing weight), I’ve found intermittent fasting works perfectly for me. I start eating at around 2 pm after my first set of clients and try to finish by 8 pm. It takes a little getting used to but it allows me to eat what I want. I’m vegetarian, so I’m pretty healthy anyway.
Wellness Hack: Fractional radio frequency and microneedling facials
I’ve also just done myself a fractional radio frequency facial, which is basically giving myself a whole new skin. It’s not a laser treatment, and so it’s extremely safe for all skin types and tones. I’m pretty red afterwards, but it’s typically gone after 24 hours, leaving a little dryness – which is the new skin. I’m obsessed. And it’s still my number one treatment for many reasons.
For something a little less harsh, I love, love, love microneedling which works on a similar concept. By causing slight trauma, the skin has to heal and repair, triggering collagen production. You can do this in-clinic or at home with the right roller and kit. Of course, I’ll recommend my own, which is a 12-week programme and includes the original Dermaroller from Germany – with 0.2mm needles, it’s very shallow. For anyone who can’t get to the clinic, this is a great solution and is so easy to use, with amazing results.
Taking it down a step further, I’d recommend a good facial that simply cleans the skin and brightens. Who doesn’t want cleaner, brighter skin?

Wellness Hack: Use a good hair oil efficiently
I love the KÉRASTASE Elixir Ultime, I love a multi-use product so I’ll head to Barrys Bootcamp and then do my class with my hair oil on, then walk over to a blow dry after class {I love Hershesons!} and they wash it off and my hair is so soft and smooth! I get my work out in, my steps in, all whilst the oil is working its magic on my hair, I then leave with bouncy, soft hair OR for that cool girl chic, I use the hair oil all over my hair for a slick back bun or pony if I’m heading to dinner (Azzurra or The Aubrey are always high on my Sloane Street visit list)} it looks chic and put together with minimal effort whilst having wellness effects on my hair. Genius.
Wellness Hack: Walk everywhere
My Grandma instilled it in me since I was a little girl. Not only do you see more, but you also get your steps in too. If you’re someone who gets a bus or a taxi, try getting out a street or two early or getting off the bus a stop earlier. I swear by getting sunlight in my eyes as soon as I wake up in the mornings, and nothing energises my body and gets my blood flowing like a morning walk, you get your steps in, get to see more, but also get the wellness benefits of the sunshine – even in winter on those chilly but sunny mornings. To make this even better, I’ll listen to a wellness podcast so I’m learning whilst I’m walking.

Wellness Hack: Befriend your breath to reset your nervous system
Your breath is the most accessible wellness tool you have.
For a long time, we’ve known how we feel impacts how we breathe, but we’ve forgotten that how we breathe impacts how we feel. Our breath can activate both our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and, when held safely and expertly, can take us into an altered state of consciousness.
Whether you’re in the office, stuck in traffic, feeling overwhelmed, in need of an energy boost, or want to quieten your self-talk and experience deep senses of clarity – the breath can do it all!
To quickly calm the mind, reduce stress, and create a space to reconnect with yourself in a world that often pulls us away from our centre, try a four-second inhale through the nose, and an eight-second exhale through the mouth for 5-10 minutes
Wellness Hack: Face your fears to find a healthy balance between comfort and growth
The most transformative wellness practice is found in finding a balance between a healthy dose of comfort and rest, alongside stepping beyond fears and into the unfamiliar.
Growth, by its very nature, will challenge us. Embracing growth means navigating discomfort with curiosity rather than resistance. Instead of avoiding fear, can you pause and ask: ‘Is this fear valid, or is it overly cautious and holding me back from living my purpose?’
Remember, ‘A ship is safe in a harbour, but that’s not what it was built for.’ True wellness comes from self-care and finding the inner freedom that lies on the other side of fear.

Wellness Hack: Radiate joy through meditation.
Maintaining a holistic balance throughout life is vital for utmost health and wellbeing. Being in the world of energy, frequency and vibration, my top wellness hack would be to focus on increasing the amount of time you dedicate to spending in the energetic space of love, peace and joy. In doing so, you create a ripple effect of firstly feeling good and secondly, exuding this frequency will draw experiences towards you that mirror and increase this energy.
The Universe is a vibrational place, it communicates by responding to the energy that you emit and simply gives you more of that. So, if you wish to manifest and feel more joy, simply align your energy with the energy that you desire. Naturally this will lead to an overall sense of inner peace, joy and utmost wellbeing.
A wonderful way to accumulate this energy is to spend some time meditating daily on that which brings you joy. Initially, you could create a focal point of a vision that creates this high-vibrational energy within you. In time you will no longer require a focal point as it will become easier to simply tap into that energy as it is the very essence of our true being, it is the energy with which we entered into this world.
If you are new to meditation, then starting with even five minutes daily is a simple yet effective place to start. You can do this for as long as you like and in time you will notice this energy resonating not only within you but also surrounding you. The energies of love and joy are deeply healing and while elevating your life experience you will also notice a beautiful sense of overall wellbeing.

Wellness Hack: Carve out an hour each day for self-care
I carve out an hour each day for self-care, whether through therapy, massage, acupuncture, meditation, or a peaceful walk, to support my emotional and physical well-being.
As a woman, maintaining hormonal balance and muscle strength has become essential in my wellness journey. Inspired by Andrew Huberman and my long experience as a wellbeing practitioner, I’ve adopted practices that have truly made a difference. Morning sunlight exposure for at least 10 minutes has improved my energy and sleep quality.
Strength training has been vital for preserving muscle and supporting overall health, paired with a focus on high-quality protein in my diet. Additionally, deliberate cold exposure, like ending my shower with cold water, has increased my resilience.
For anyone looking to enhance their routine, start by embracing sunlight, exploring therapeutic practices like acupuncture or massages, incorporating weightlifting, and ensuring meals are rich in protein. These changes have brought balance, strength, and a renewed sense of vitality to my life.
