Seen on Sloane: Chelsea Dog Day 2026 Edition
Chelsea Dog Day returned on Saturday 3 October, with more than 80 shops, restaurants and hotels fussing over the dogs while their owners held the leads, and a Duke of York Square market in aid of Pets as Therapy.
Anabela Chan dressed 12 dogs in gemstones for portraits by Pawtique’s Elena Marchi, Jessica McCormack cut Victorian-style silhouettes for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and Giorgio Armani drew bespoke illustrations beside its Poldo collection. Willett’s at The Cadogan built bowls of beef, chicken or salmon, Azzurra served dog-friendly gelato tableside, and Beaverbrook Town House added puppuccinos, bandanas and Doggie Tarot. The dogs, as ever, had the better day.
The owners wore chocolate and the dogs were cast to match: Harjas Singh’s burgundy joggers with Bo the French bulldog, Libby Maddox’s striped knit with Bruno under one arm, and Nik Shah’s Stone Island gilet with Winston the Weimaraner, grey-brown by birth and therefore ahead of everyone.
Where the dog wasn’t walking, it was carried in something good: Eva Vilkele’s Gigi in a Goyard, a CHANEL on the other shoulder for balance, and Ewa Kania’s Bam Bam by tote. May Wong set the tone, walking Lulu and George past Hermès in a vintage Prada skirt, Louis Vuitton canine accessory on the lead, Hermès and Giorgio Armani shopping bags in hand. Standards, in Chelsea, are maintained at every level.
