People are often surprised when I tell them that the first time I flew anywhere was at the age of 19 when I moved to the U.K. to study. I have called London home since then and have lost count of how many trips I have taken, but the novelty of going somewhere new hasn’t worn off.
Now, I travel frequently and like to travel light. I’d always prefer to spend two hours exploring and capturing my surroundings, enjoying a nice meal or a swim than getting my nails done when I’m away, so packing a bunch of beauty tools and products in my suitcase is a hard no for me.
This is why having a strong inter-holiday beauty maintenance regime when I’m back in London between back-to-back summer holidays is a must. From taking haircare to keeping my nails looking neat and my skin in good condition, this is how I attend to my inter-holiday beauty needs on and around Sloane Street.

HAIR
The thing I get the most compliments on is definitely my hair. I like to keep it relatively long, but in summer, I have to keep it up most of the time. While that helps with cooling off, it can result in hair breakage so my focus is to keep it as strong as possible between travels.
Salon Sloane has a brilliant range of treatments and some of the best professionals in the game to keep my locks glossy and healthy at all times. In the comfort of my own home, I love to use Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Trio Regimen (available at Michael John London) to maintain gloss in my hair long enough that I don’t need to bring a mountain of bottles in my suitcase.

NAILS
The easiest part of my inter-holiday routine is my nails. I feel my best having them in a classic short shape that allows me to use my camera freely without worrying about breaking my nails. I always choose a soft colour that I can match with all of my travel outfits and Nail’d It do endless variations on my favourite baby pink palette, which I adore having all year round and find that it goes perfectly with anything I wear.

SKINCARE
Travelling can wreak havoc on the skin. Not only from sun damage but from planes, which can be extremely dehydrating and full of germs, and also the effects of stress that long days of travel can have. So I treat myself to one when I return, ensuring that my skin is returned to a refreshed and glowing state before I head off on another trip. Plus, it’s nice to have something to look forward to when I’m back.
Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Clinic remains one of the most sought-after clinics for a nourishing facial, so a session at the Glow Zone there can be as exciting as a holiday trip itself. And both the Cadogan Clinic and Teresa Tarmey offer some incredibly advanced treatments to increase elasticity, moisture and fine lines.

HAIR REMOVAL
I love smooth skin, so a hair-less body is a non-negotiable for me. Personally, I prefer laser for hair removal. I find it less painful than waxing and it’s easy to maintain with shaving between sessions. The secret is the type of laser, so I recommend trying around until you’re happy. Michael John’s medispa offers laser hair removal, as does Neville Hair and Beauty on Pont Street and Beyond MediSpa at Harvey Nichols.
