Azzurra is Chelsea’s finest Italian seafood restaurant, set at the south end of Sloane Street. It is the flagship London venture of the Aqua Restaurant Group — also behind Aqua Shard and Aqua Kyoto. Founded by acclaimed restaurateur David Yeo, it sits five minutes from Sloane Square station and is perfectly placed for lunch or dinner between the boutiques.

The kitchen follows a genuine boat-to-table philosophy. British seafood is sourced directly from fishermen across the British Isles. It arrives in the kitchen within hours of the catch. Executive chef Alessandro Bay then prepares it with Italian simplicity. The menu spans crudo, handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and daily catch specials. Oils and salts are sourced from Sardinia, Sicily and Tuscany, giving each dish a distinctly regional character.

The space is as striking as the food. A 16-metre bar runs the full length of the restaurant, combining a raw bar, a cocktail bar and a pizza counter. The signature Sgroppino — always stirred, never shaken — is essential. Meanwhile, a sun-drenched terrace faces Sloane Street, making it one of the neighbourhood’s most sought-after spots for a long, leisurely lunch.

Azzurra suits almost every occasion. The set lunch menu is ideal for a break between boutiques. The early dinner menu offers a more relaxed evening pace. Saturday Jazz Nights run from 7.30pm and make it one of the liveliest tables in Chelsea through the weekend. Smart casual dress is recommended throughout.

For private events, the Amalfi Dining Room at the back of the restaurant accommodates up to 20 guests for seated dining or 40 for standing receptions, with exclusive full-venue hire available for up to 200.
