The safety of Chelsea’s community is our priority and so unfortunately, due to the extreme weather conditions, we have taken the decision to cancel today’s Strawberries & Screen. We are very disappointed to be sharing this news however there are a number of other fantastic places that you can catch it locally, including Bluebird, Stanley’s and The Cadogan Arms along the King’s Road.
Strawberries and cream, jugs of icy Pimm’s, tennis whites and the thwack-thwack of volleys… Wimbledon season has kicked off and though the ballot closed at the end of last year, you can catch the men’s semi-finals and both the men’s and women’s singles finals matches on the big screen at Duke of York Square.
Pack a picnic blanket, load up with supplies from the artisanal food makers on Pavilion Road or from neighbourhood favourite Partridges and take your place on the historic running track to catch all the nail-biting action.
There will also be pop-up bars and food stores, with drinks from POLPO and Partridges and ready-made picnics from Comptoir Libanais. Or grab some delicacies from the Fine Food Market on Saturday.
Little players will be entertained by complimentary tennis lessons across the weekend, with rackets provided and, if you didn’t manage to book your VIP seat in time, you can try arriving early to secure one of the walk-in spots.
