For epicurean adventurers and delicacy experimentalists, Anya Hindmarch’s Ice Cream Project is back for its second season at Anya’s Village on Pont Street in Chelsea. This time, the pop-up will offer a new selection of ice creams inspired by Hindmarch’s cult food favourites, with unexpected flavours evoking a touch of nostalgia.

Delicious flavours making their debut include Blue Dragon Original Sweet Chilli, which has a sticky sweet tang and a touch of heat; Warburtons Crumpets with its signature melt-in-the-mouth butteriness; and the smooth, natural sweetness of Birds Eye Petits Pois (only the best for the Captain’s table, of course).

For those who prefer to keep their condiments separate from their dessert (though who could turn down the Heinz Tomato Ketchup flavour?), the Ice Cream Project also offers an array of classic confectionery treats. Why not try the distinctive sweet-but-tart zing of Tiptree Lemon Curd, handmade from the finest Sicilian lemon curd? Or perhaps your appetite will be sparked by KP Original Salted Peanuts, providing its namesake’s crunch alongside the rich, roasted flavour of peanut butter.

The innovative ice cream is handmade in small batches in Devon and is inspired by Anya Hindmarch’s playful collection of tote bags, each paying homage to a household brand such as Dairy Milk chocolate, Marmite or Polo mints. The Ice Cream Project is the next step in Hindmarch’s celebration of the everyday.

‘Making everyday things in an extraordinary way has always been a passion of mine and is the reason why I love to play with iconic brands,’ Hindmarch said at the opening of last year’s concept store. ‘The Ice Cream Project sets out to challenge perceptions, working with the most sophisticated ingredients and recipes in an artful way.’

Available in both take-home 500ml tubs (£15) and individual scoops (from £3.50), Anya’s ice cream is the perfect way to celebrate summer in London. Finally, an insider tip: get there just before opening time to avoid the inevitable queues.

Anya’s Ice Cream Project runs from Thursday 29 June – Sunday 27th August at The Village Hall, 11 Pont Street, London SW1X 9EH.
Opening hours: 10am – 6pm Monday – Saturday. 11am – 5pm Sunday
