Gifters fall into two categories: the organised and the last-minuters. No matter which one you are, there’s no judgement here. In fact, this season, the Sloane Street editors have done much of the hard work for you, curating the very best gifts that the area’s boutiques, restaurants and hotels have to offer and sorting them into easy lists for the closest people in your life, including genius ideas for the annually flummoxing Secret Santa gift.
And while we may be a little biased, Sloane Street (and the rest of Chelsea), really is the most magical place in London during the festive period, so where better to shop for the ones dearest to you? We suggest making a day of it.
There are Christmas trees and fairy lights in abundance, a Winter Pavilion on Sloane Square with frequent performances, whimsical installations at the likes of Harry’s Dolce Vita, and special in-store events at Jo Malone London and Diptyque that will all make your Christmas shopping spree less stress and more sparkle.
Plus, there are plenty of options for sustenance, too – drop into The LaLee for brunch ahead of your shopping, or drop in for a midway hot chocolate, and wrap up your day by congratulating yourself for ticking everyone off your list with a festive tipple in …At Sloane’s sumptuous, low-lit bar.
Don’t forget to book a slot for your little one at Anya’s Christmas Grotto, too – it is one of Chelsea’s most anticipated seasonal events, and you oughtn’t pass on a mince pie or festive afternoon tea at Anya’s Cafe next door, either.
Speaking of gifts for little ones – while they’ve likely already posted their list to Santa, it’s worth keeping in mind that many of the Street’s boutiques also offer adorable children’s clothes, and you’ll undoubtedly find something special for them in Bonpoint, Dior, Harvey Nichols, or Peter Jones.
Pets, too, will need a little something, and for that we advise Prada and Anya Hindmarch’s assortment of dog gifts and accessories to make them the chicest pooch in Chelsea.
No matter how well you know your loved ones, it’s easy to second guess gifting or struggle to think up something for the person who might very well have everything. But help is at hand – below, you can click through to Sloane Street’s 2024 gift guides.
Oh, and if you are leaving everything until the 24th, don’t forget that boutiques on the Street close at 7 pm.
