Throughout the week of May 12–18, for London Craft Week 2025, Sloane Street will host The Art of Craftsmanship, a series of events spotlighting artistry in many forms—think 24-karat gilding, Georgian diamond-setting, expertly stitched tailoring, and an elegant French afternoon tea set in one of the Street’s most beautiful rooms.

For Sloane Street, fresh from a £46-million transformation, this edition of the Week brings with it a sense of renewal: it marks a moment to celebrate not only world-class craftsmanship but also the creativity that has long defined this elegant stretch of Chelsea.

Architects from John McAslan + Partners will lead tours of Sloane Street’s transformation, a quiet masterpiece of Yorkstone paving, Arts and Crafts references, and heritage reimagined for modern Chelsea. Every detail of the redesign—bespoke lighting, honey-hued stone, and lush planting—was approached with meticulous care, cementing Sloane Street’s status as one of the most beautiful streets in the world.

Those with a taste for jewellery can join Jessica McCormack for an intimate evening of diamond craftsmanship, where traditional Georgian techniques meet contemporary design, all shaped by the jeweller’s distinctive antique-meets-modern aesthetic.

At seductive boutique hotel …At Sloane, guests are invited to Le Goûter, a refined afternoon tea complete with Champagne, Hotel Côstes jam, and chocolates within the unforgettable surroundings of the hotel’s top-floor bistro, a breath-taking space inspired by James McNeill Whistler’s Peacock Room, a haven of detail, texture and quiet theatricality from one of the stars of the Arts and Crafts movement.

Join L’Objet, which recently opened its first London flagship on Sloane Street, for an intimate exploration of the artistry behind its porcelain creations. You are invited to discover the delicate hand-sculpting techniques, gilding with 24-karat gold, and the detailed finishing that elevates each porcelain piece into a work of art—a blend of timeless tradition and considered innovation that has defined the brand for 20 years.

Elsewhere on the Street, craftsmanship takes centre stage at two of fashion’s most storied maisons. On May 13 at Fendi, a Selleria Workshop will explore the maison’s Selleria craftsmanship, which has featured Cuoio Romano leather, reminiscent of Rome’s streets, since 1925. Each bag is meticulously hand-stitched by Italian artisans, using the finest materials. A commitment to artisanal excellence and timeless elegance grounded in luxury and durability.

The Art of Silk, a special in-store discussion at Gucci on May 15, will explore the Italian brand’s journey into silk craftsmanship, which began in the 1950s, laying the foundation for a legacy of artistry and luxury that endures to this day.

Over at Louis Vuitton, the spotlight turns to the Capucines bag, named after the Parisian street where the house opened its first store in 1854. From 12–17 May, a talented arisan from France will be in store to provide a live demonstration that reveals the intricacies of the bag’s 250-step construction process.

Meanwhile, as Temperley London enters its 25th year,  its new London flagship will present A Stitch in Time: Celebrating Temperley London’s Heritage in Craftsmanship, a special retrospective exhibition that will bring to life a world of textile artistry and embroidery in iconic Temperley London pieces from the past quarter-century.

Stay tuned for more on the week’s upcoming events—a celebration of the patient, precise and often poetic work that defines great craftsmanship. It’s a chance to explore the elegant reinvention of Sloane Street, where every detail has been considered and every element made to last. In short: a new era of style and substance on London’s most refined street.
