There is always something new to enjoy in Chelsea, whether it’s a play at the Royal Court Theatre, the latest season’s collection from one of the world’s most luxurious brands, or a fresh menu at one of the neighbourhood’s many restaurants. In fact, there is an abundance of new drinks and dishes to try in and around Sloane Street this spring, so we have curated the best of them here.

The LaLee

The LaLee is built on the concept of exploration, so it’s no surprise that the restaurant has sought out international dishes for its seasonal menu. Try the Spaghetti alla Nerano pasta and fried courgette cloaked in parmesan shavings. It’s named after the tiny village of Nerano on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Elsewhere, there is new-season asparagus with a crispy breaded egg (the eggs come from marigold-fed hens, which accounts for the yolks’ bright colour), finished with English ham and smoked hollandaise. A perfect spring dish.

Beaverbrook Town House

As its name suggests, Beauty of the Season, the new cocktail from Sir Frank’s Bar at Beaverbrook Town House, is inspired by the springtime cherry blossom that you’ll see all around the neighbourhood throughout May. It’s a refreshing tipple that combines KI NO BI gin with St-Germain elderflower liqueur, Cointreau and orange bitters – perfect for the long evenings in spring and summer.

11 Cadogan Gardens

Looking for a veggie option? This season, the chefs at 11 Cadogan Gardens have created the ultimate risotto with pearl barley, velvety butternut squash, sage oil and sharp pecorino cheese. The crispy kale garnish finishes off this texture extravaganza, which will make for an ideal conclusion to a day exploring Chelsea.

Harry’s Dolce Vita

On Basil Street, Harry’s Dolce Vita has updated its menu with suitably springlike dishes, including Insalata di Gorgonzola, a salad made with butterhead lettuce, Gorgonzola, avocado and Datterini tomatoes; Agnello alla Romana, featuring chargrilled lamb cutlets served with salsa verde and a fennel, mint and parsley salad; and burrata with marinated grapes and crushed pistachios. Be sure to get a table on the terrace so you can bask in the sunshine while enjoying the food.

Al Mare

“Spring is my favourite time of year,” says Flavio Ringer, director of food and beverage at The Carlton Tower. “It symbolises rebirth and enjoyment after the cold winter months.” With that in mind, the team at Al Mare has designed a new menu full of refreshing and nourishing dishes. Highlights include Tartare di Tonno, a medley of Mediterranean bluefin tuna, avocado and apple with yogurt and Oscietra caviar; L’Orto, a selection of raw and cooked vegetables; and Tagliolini al limone con Tartare di Gamberi Rossi, which features homemade pasta (is there anything better?), Mazara del Vallo shrimps, lemon, and burrata. It’s enough to convince your tastebuds that you’re right there on the Italian coast.

Harvey Nichols

Chelsea is in full bloom, and to celebrate, Harvey Nichols has partnered with Alice + Olivia to create a beautiful secret garden terrace on its fifth floor. Guests can sip on flower-infused cocktails created by Grey Goose Essences, including a watermelon and basil vodka tipple that is finished off with bubbly tonic water and a twist of lime.

Granger & Co

Where better to enjoy a fresh spring breakfast than Aussie-inspired restaurant Granger & Co? Head to Pavilion Road early to enjoy the pineapple and oat bircher with toasted coconut and passionfruit. For something a little more savoury, try the miso ChalkStream trout with tiger salad and sesame tofu dressing. Yum.
