Chelsea History Festival 2024
The Chelsea History Festival is returning to the historic Royal Hospital Road for 2024, running from the 25th to the 29th of September, offering a week full of fascinating insights into the heritage, culture, and stories of one of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods.
With a rich programme of events, the festival brings together historians, authors, performers, and enthusiasts for an unforgettable celebration of Chelsea’s past and present. Join two serving Army officers for an exclusive guided tour of the National Army Museum’s newly-refreshed Soldier gallery with the Soldier with Soldiers tour. Local resident and former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman has walked every street of Chelsea, researching its history and former residents, building up a meticulous knowledge of an area steeped in stories and culture for his book, Bill Wyman’s Chelsea. You can join the avid archivist, collector, photographer and author at the Chelsea Physic Garden Gallery for a fascinating talk on the development and history of Chelsea from medieval village to cultural hub (Sunday 29 September, 6 pm, £20).

Join historian Sarah Reid for the Immigration and Cultural Chelsea walking tour exploring over 1,000 years of immigration and cultural history in Chelsea.
