Zimmermann Lands on Sloane Street

The Australian label opens a new Chelsea boutique, pairing its romantic ready-to-wear with an art-filled interior and the Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Sloane Street has gained another notable fashion address with the opening of a new Zimmermann boutique in Chelsea. The luminous corner space provides an elegant new home for the brand’s romantic ready-to-wear — all sun-washed prints, airy dresses and that distinctive Zimmermann mix of bohemian ease and polished femininity.

The boutique has been designed by long-time collaborators Studio McQualter, who have leaned into the building’s character and its prominent corner position. Expansive windows draw natural light deep into the interior, where layered textures, art and furniture create a space that invites exploration as much as shopping.

“I love being in London and have so many great mates here, so it’s a nice feeling to introduce this new boutique to everyone,” says creative director Nicky Zimmermann. “It’s been a project we have worked on for a long time, and I love that the space immediately feels warm — the palette and finishes are layered with amazing art and furniture to encourage tactile exploration of the collections.”

Inside, visitors are greeted by an owl sculpture from Australian artist Peter Cooley, a small but charming nod to the brand’s roots. From there, the Spring/Summer 2026 collection unfolds against a backdrop of warm-toned plaster ceilings, custom terrazzo flooring and transparent wardrobes presenting Zimmermann’s signature silhouettes — intricate lace dresses, fluid tailoring and prints that look ready for long lunches and sunlit celebrations.

Her spring collection was inspired by the artists of Lavender Bay, a waterfront enclave in the suburbs of Sydney known for its bohemian lifestyle in the ’70s.

For Spring/Summer 2026, Zimmermann leans further into its signature fantasy of the perfect summer: lace dresses, fluid tailoring and prints made for garden parties, destination weddings and long lunches that drift lazily into evening. It’s the sort of wardrobe that assumes the sun is shining — and behaves accordingly.

A dedicated handbag room displays arm candy against cream walls, where a Franco Albini sconce highlights a structural column. In the main space, a Murano glass pendant hangs above bold green-and-red checkerboard tiles, softened by a custom abrash rug and Tulip armchairs by Eero Saarinen, their leopard-velvet cushions adding a distinctly saucy flourish.

A curved terrazzo staircase leads downstairs to a private appointment suite — a fully immersive, faintly theatrical space where oak-panelled walls, parquet flooring and plush carpets create a more intimate setting. A Saratoga sofa anchors the room, while a Georges Yassef sculpture rests within a recessed niche.

The boutique also offers a private client appointment service: a reserved fitting room, a dedicated styling session, and the kind of unhurried attention that makes trying on clothes feel like a genuine pleasure rather than a logistical exercise. Individual bookings or small groups are welcome.

Arriving in store now is the Summer Swim collection — beautiful, a little dreamy, and designed for a life lived mostly outdoors. In other words, thoroughly Zimmermann.

The brand’s appeal has always rested on a particular kind of glamour: feminine, sunlit and a little escapist. Placed here in Chelsea, those breezy pieces take on a subtly different mood — less beach holiday, more garden party on a very good day. Which, when you think about it, is exactly where Zimmermann belongs.
