For a very limited time, chef Roberto Toro of Michelin-starred eatery Otto Geleng at the Sicilian Grand Hotel Timeo will take on a guest-starring role at The LaLee within sister hotel The Cadogan, a Belmond Hotel.

Toro, who has been at the helm of Otto Geleng ever since he devised its very first menu a decade ago, will bring his take on Sicilian food to London for four nights only, from 28 November, 2022. 

Named after a German artist who painted the region’s landscapes, Otto Geleng offers some of the best views in eastern Sicily, reaching across the Ionian Sea and to Mount Etna. It is the quintessential dining experience – and one of Italy’s most exclusive restaurants – with just eight tables on an elegant terrace surrounded by pretty pink bougainvillaea. And while the view from The LaLee’s windows might be a little different, you’ll certainly feel immersed in the very best of Sicilian culture.

Seafood, of course, will be a key element of the menu, with an Aeolian-style seabass slice and risotto with herbs and cuttlefish. Another highlight is an artfully presented caponata. For dessert, don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in spiced Etna apple, a cannolo and, it almost goes without saying, a delicious panettone. 

Toro and his team have sourced as many ingredients locally as possible, and will be preparing everything fresh in The LaLee’s kitchen from 12pm every day. 

Serious foodies will want to reserve a space at one of the very special events that Toro himself will host in the restaurant’s private dining area on 30 November and 1 December. Featuring a four-course tasting menu with Italian wine pairings, each evening will be a chance to experience some highlights of the chef’s repertoire.
