Harvey Nichols has brought a hefty measure of festive cheer to the north end of Sloane Street with its joyful Christmas windows.

The façade of the store has been transformed by the windows, which glow with light shining from modern stained-glass panels in gloriously bright colours.

“We wanted to create something that would bring a smile to customers’ faces”

Janet Wardley, head of visual display at Harvey Nichols, explained that the window scheme was designed to help spread holiday cheer by using uplifting colours to evoke joy and happiness.

“We wanted to create something that would bring a smile to customers’ faces, and what better way to do that than with bright mood-enhancing coloured patterns that appear both inside and outside our stores,” she said.

The window gleaming with yellow creates a sense of energy and excitement; orange grabs attention with a happy and uplifting effect; and blue projects feelings of calmness and tranquillity.

As you bathe in the lights of the windows, taking in the seasonal outfits or luxury gift ideas, be sure to look up above the windows, where a lush festive garland, hung with hand-painted baubles and glistening lights, wraps around the store.

And make sure you pop into the legendary department store to see the lights at work inside, too.
