The British jeweller will unveil its “Best of British” garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show from Monday 22 May, 2023. Celebrating the best of British craftsmanship and design, the garden has been created by award-winning garden designer Thomas Hoblyn, and inspired by the stylised depiction of woodlands imagined by Pre-Raphaelites, a group of 19th-century artists who were known for their detailed and idealised depictions of nature
The garden features a woodland glade decorated with plants that pay homage to British craftsmanship and an arbour created by Cox London, with styling by interior designer Rachel Chudley and stonemasonry by Jake Catling.
The arbour mimics the woodland surroundings in the form of intricate leafy tiles and branch-like framework, while the interior showcases woodland-inspired furnishings curated by interior designer Rachel Chudley, who has used the work of talented craftspeople to create the woodwork and tapestry.
Catling’s stonemasonry skill is at work in the rustically refined paths and terrace, made from highly fossilised Chatsworth stone. Among the botanical highlights of the garden are the highly intricate feathery form of alnus imperialis and the unusual weeping habit of betula pendula.
The Boodles British Craft Garden is one of the many highlights of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023, which runs alongside Chelsea in Bloom, London’s largest free-to-attend flower festival.
Be sure to visit Chelsea during the week to see the remarkable floral displays, inspired by this year’s cinematic theme, ‘Flowers on Film’, and plenty of exciting events, exclusives and gifts happening on and around Sloane Street.
