Anya Hindmarch launches her first ceramics collection at The Village

Debuting at the “Bull In A China Shop” concept space, the collection is inspired by happy memories around the table

17 May 2023

Anya Hindmarch has opened a brand-new concept store in The Village off Sloane Street to celebrate the launch of her first-ever ceramics collection. Called Bull In A China Shop, the space is a joyful ode to all things china, inspired by Anya’s love of the chaotic scenes and happy memories left after cherished guests leave the dining table.

“I love those moments after entertaining, the table strewn with the remains of a long lunch, things left exactly as they are – a freeze-frame snapshot that tells a story,” she said. “Our new ceramics add to those stories, designs which become wonderfully woven into the fabric of our lives.”

The entrance to the store is flanked by perilously high stacks of china that seem on the verge of toppling and, within, there is a long dining table where you can pull up a chair and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

The fresh white collection is designed to bring joy, with plenty of Anya’s signature eyes throughout, from the cheeky eyes on a set of ‘Good Crack’ egg cups, and the composite face of a three-piece breakfast set, to the teapots, mugs and salt and pepper shakers.

Everything is hand-painted in Stoke-on-Trent and presented in charmingly playful made-to-keep packaging, and there are lovely embroidered fresh white linen napkins to help mop up any unavoidable messes.

Open until 18 June, 2023, the Bull In A China Shop store will be a magnet to homeware aficionados looking for beautiful things to adorn shelves, perk up dining tables and enliven kitchen counters. And, if you happen to be on the lookout for a great gift, we think you’ll find one here.
