The Royal Hospital Chelsea

The Royal Hospital Chelsea has been caring for retired soldiers of the British army since 1692, in recognition of their loyal service to the country. Some 300 Chelsea Pensioners are in residence at any one time in the magnificent building designed by Sir Christopher Wren. The museum is currently closed to the public, but visitors can still call in at the post office and shop, which sells a selection of gifts and souvenirs.
