Café 1922
Café 1922 brings a quietly elegant new rhythm to Lower Sloane Street. Set within The Sloane Club, this all-day café, bakery and wine bar opens the spirit of one of Chelsea’s most historic institutions to the neighbourhood for the first time.
By morning, the mood is relaxed and restorative. Guests can stop by for speciality coffee, fresh pastries and breakfast dishes. At the heart of the café is its in-house bakery, where viennoiserie and baked goods are prepared by hand each morning. The signature Sloane Pain au Suisse is a particular highlight, inspired by The Sloane Club’s much-loved Croque Monsieur.
As the day unfolds, Café 1922 becomes an easy meeting place for lunch on Lower Sloane Street. The menu is light, seasonal and considered, with dishes designed for everything from a quiet solo visit to a longer catch-up with friends. Later, the space shifts into a neighbourhood wine bar, with a thoughtful selection of wines served by the glass, by carafe or by the bottle.
With its warm interiors, street-facing windows and tables that spill out onto Lower Sloane Street, Café 1922 feels both polished and personal. Whether visiting after day of shopping on Sloane Street, pausing for coffee, or returning for wine in the evening, it offers a refined Chelsea café experience rooted in craft, community and a genuine sense of place.
