Seen on Sloane: Chelsea in Bloom 2026 Edition
If Chelsea in Bloom is nominally about flowers, it is also — inevitably, delightfully — about what people wear to stand in front of them.
For 2026, Sloane Street and the surrounding neighbourhood provided the backdrop: towering delphiniums, great blowsy peonies, sculptural greenery and shopfronts transformed into full floral theatre.
The clothes followed suit. There were wide-brimmed hats, embroidered whites, neat tailoring, raffia bags, espadrilles, sharp sunglasses and enough florals-on-florals to make restraint feel rather beside the point.
The strongest looks understood the brief without becoming costume. Sophie Darroch and Sarah Orton made a case for polished summer whites and soft neutrals; Sadie Chase balanced a deep red skirt with an easy white top and a Saint Laurent bag; Ulla Johnson wore her own print with the ease of someone entirely at home in a garden.
Elsewhere, Connie Kang brought Ralph Lauren suiting into full botanical context, Nikki Sharp leaned into high-summer glamour, and Rebecca Thompson delivered the sort of blue-and-white dress that knows exactly what Chelsea Flower Show week requires.
As ever, the best Chelsea in Bloom dressing sits somewhere between garden party, gallery opening and long lunch. Pretty, yes. But practical enough for pavements, photographs and a second lap of Sloane Street.
