Behind every beautiful event and red-carpet look there is a team of experts who have collaborated to illuminate and accentuate the wearer’s natural features, and your wedding day should be no different. Working with professional artists makes the world of difference to how special you feel on the day, and happily, Chelsea has a wealth of salons offering just that. Read on to discover all of them.

Salon Sloane

Founded by Chelsea hair legend Belle Cannan who trained under Vidal Sassoon and Nicky Clarke, Salon Sloane is a place you can put full trust in to have your hair, makeup and nails looking spectacular on the big day.

Cannan says that the key to healthy, shiny hair is to start early, so book in at least three months ahead of your wedding for the salon’s Restore and Revitalise service – a personalised consultation programme that addresses scalp health, hair behaviour, density, strength and condition. The salon also offers event hairdressing for the day itself and has a network of trusted makeup and nail artists who can all be booked for the same day.

Event hair styling, £110-£150; Restore & Revitalise treatment from £60

Michaeljohn

Michaeljohn salon has a sparkling list of influencer and celebrity clients who trust its expertise for big events. What’s more, the company’s technical director has collaborated with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana for photo shoots, so whether you’re going for high-fashion styling or a classic updo, you’re in the right place. Michaeljohn has specialists in all hair types and offers a huge variety of services perfect for the run-up to the wedding and on the day itself.

In the months and weeks before your wedding, opt for bespoke facials to address any existing skin complaints, and you can book in for micro-blading and a course of laser hair removal. Now is also the time, well in advance of the day, to consider whether you’ll have permanent makeup and any aesthetic treatments. Consult with the team’s talented hair and makeup artists on the kind of look you’d like for the main event and do at least one trial session beforehand.

And finally, since there are few who are immune to the pressure of wedding planning, treat yourself to a massage shortly before the day to dissolve any stress and tension.

Cosmetics a la Carte

Creating a makeup look that is both natural and camera-ready is no easy feat, but Pavilion Road’s Cosmetics a la Carte is an expert in exactly that. The beauty company offers several bridal packages with its senior makeup artists: wedding day makeup on location, in its boutique or ‘bridal makeup playtime’ – a curated product selection that you can apply yourself on the big day. The latter is ideal if you’re getting married abroad, and works through a consultation with one of the team’s artists, who will select products to match your desired look. Brides also love the brand’s ‘bespoke lipstick blending’ experience, in which they create a personalised lip shade to wear on the day.

Both Cosmetics a la Carte’s in-house and on-location wedding day makeup services include a trial at its Chelsea studio that is carefully recorded to ensure the look is recreated perfectly on your wedding day, when a senior artist will do your makeup and that of your bridal party, too. For party time on location, have your artist change up your look to introduce a touch more glamour.

And while the boutique itself doesn’t offer hair styling, its recommended partner, Salon Sloane, is helpfully just three doors down.

Bridal trial, £125; wedding day makeup, from £140 depending on location; bridal beauty lesson, £160; bridal makeup playtime, £150 redeemable against purchase; bespoke lipstick blending, £80.
