Earlier this month, London hosted London Collections: Men, with international press and buyers in town to see what the likes of Tom Ford, Hackett, Matthew Miller, Burberry and Craig Green all showing their spring/summer 2016 collections.
Tom Ford (below, and main picture above) showed his slick collection at his Sloane Street boutique, with models whisking up the spiral staircase and strutting the plush carpet as guests stood sipping margaritas and Champagne.
We loved Craig Green’s martial arts-inspired collection, which veered into a bolder palette this season; Burberry’s androgynous mix of lace and wool, all set to a powerful performance by David Rhodes and a 27-piece orchestra; Joseph’s take on Nineties minimalism fused with sportswear; Oliver Spencer’s stylishly laid-back looks and the live soundtrack provided by Q Strings, a female quartet that performed a moving version of “Love Will Tear Us Apart”; Alexander McQueen’s Victorian sailor-inspired tailoring, and the tattoo prints of sea monsters and mermaids; and Belstaff’s wonderful array of outerwear inspired by the British Army’s “Desert Rats”, the forces that battled Rommel’s troops in North Africa in WWII.
Here are a few of our favourite looks from the collections.
Craig Green, Matthew Miller, Oliver Spencer, Belstaff, Alexander McQueen and Burberry are available at Harvey Nichols.
