Just in time for the Christmas party season, Gucci has launched its first make-up collection. Our thoughts: hoorah! The collection is as you’d expect from Gucci: all sultry shades and luxurious textures in exquisite packaging.
Gucci creative director Frida Giannini tapped legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath to bring the collection of over 200 pieces to life. Giannini began by raiding 90 years of Gucci archives and brought fabric samples to McGrath. They identified the colours the brand is calling the “Iconic Six”: gold, black, red, ottanio (a peacock-teal blue), bronze and copper, which the range is centred around.
Charlotte Casiraghi, the granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco, is the face of the collection and her crimson lips and smokey eyes have inspired us. We’ll be channelling that dramatic look at the season’s soirées.
There are dozens of delicious eye shadow colours (packaged as singles, duos and quads), five eye liner pencils, one liquid liner, a volumising mascara, almost 50 lipstick colours, 18 glosses and 24 nail lacquers. That’s a lot of pretty. For the face, there are 18 foundation shades with SPF 25, in addition to powders, bronzers, powder blushes, a concealer and a primer. As for skin care, there’s a cleansing water, toner and a lightweight moisturizer, with more promised for the future.
For now, the entire collection is available exclusively at the Sloane Street boutique only, so make your way there and get gorgeous for Christmas.
