Chanel’s visual signatures are among the most recognisable in fashion – the tweed cropped jackets, the 2.55 quilted bag, those double Cs, the two-tone ballet slippers, the Chanel No. 5 bottle, Breton Tees, the LBD…
The exquisite Chanel jewellery collections take their inspiration from pearls, camellias, feathers – three more stars in Chanel’s visual lexicon. The latest examples of the high jewellery collections, some of which are available at the Sloane Street boutique, are glittering example of why the house of Chanel returns time and time again to these timeless motifs.
Legend has it that Mademoiselle Chanel fell in love with camellias when Boy Capel, her lover and muse, gave her a bunch. Since then, the flower has popped up across Chanel’s haute couture and ready-to-wear collections, on shoes and accessories, and is reinterpreted each year by Chanel’s jewellery designers.
The new Camelia Galbé collection of 12 pieces, including rings, bracelets, earrings and pendants, is all about Chanel’s favourite bloom. It’s bold and graphic, with the ceramic petals highlighted by white gold and embellished with diamonds.
Les Perles De Chanel is an ode to pearls, which Mademoiselle Chanel would wear with everything from a twinset to a LBD. The huge collection of 84 pieces, features coloured stones and pearls alongside dazzling diamonds in ultra-feminine creations that are as romantic as they are eye-catching.
A selection of the collections is available at Chanel, 167-169 Sloane St, London SW1X 9QF
