From shades of buttercup and sunflower, to primrose and palest lemon, embrace spring in this season’s sunniest trend: yellow.
Of the spectrum of colours shown on designers catwalks for spring/summer 2017, tones of yellow shone brightest as the most joyful, enlivening the runways at Chanel, Emilia Wickstead, Dolce & Gabbana and Marni. And it’s a lot easier to wear than you think.
If in doubt, go for softer, pastel shades, perhaps one of Emilia Wickstead’s devastatingly feminine crêpe dresses. And A.W.A.K.E.’s charming button-up skirt from Boutique 1 would look utterly beguiling with Miu Miu’s cropped cardigan.
Of course, this is the colour of sunshine itself, and no summer holiday wardrobe could fail to be improved by the addition of a playful little sundress – we love Lisa Marie Fernandez’s. And timeless shades of tan, khaki, navy and white get a twist of lemon freshness just by adding a yellow bag, belt, or even just a statement pair of earrings like Simone Rocha’s.
