Pramma: remember that name. It’s no mean feat to crack into the world of luxury handbags but that’s exactly what Stefania Pramma has done with her new Pramma collection, which launches exclusively at Browns this month.
New York-based Stafania has plenty of experience in creating lust-worthy arm candy, with a CV that includes accessory designing at Judith Leiber, Vera Wang, Anne Klein and Ellen Tracey.
She has combined her two great loves – handbags and jewellery – into a collection of beautifully designed arm candy that straddles the line between the two. The sculptural shapes are surprising and sophisticated, using only the finest calfskin and French micrograin leather, with butter-soft leather lining. They are crafted to avoid unnecessary seams, and the architectural handles are long and tubular, and cleverly constructed to stay that way.
But the best part is the hardware, which is hand-crafted from semi-precious stones like amethyst, tiger’s eye, lapis lazuli and malachite, set in yellow or rose gold, palladium or dark ruthenium plating. Stefania’s eccentric tastes come through in the whimsical clasps, including Topper the dachshund, Ladienne the poodle and Edgar the French bulldog, all carved from sandblasted palladium, dark ruthenium or rose gold.
