NEED TO KNOW: CASSANDRA GOAD

The Duchess of Cambridge wearing Cassandra Goad Temple of Heaven Earrings

Down at the Sloane Square end of Sloane Street, near Jo Malone and Chloé, is one of our favourite London treasures: Cassandra Goad’s glittering jewellery boutique.

Almost 30 years ago, Goad started her business, marrying traditional methods with modern design, to create eye-catching pieces that show off the rainbow spectrum of colourful and rare gemstones that she uses, including praisiolites, kyanites, tourmalines and fire opals.

Katherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is a fan of the brand; she wore the bold Temple of Heaven earrings for a visit to the Imperial War Museum in 2012.

Her style references the courtly jewellery of centuries past, while remaining thoroughly fresh in its aesthetic. We particularly love her collection of crosses, many of which are inspired by crucifixes found in places like Sofia and Madrid, or like an ancient cross that was found in Suffolk and is now in the British Museum.
