Alberta Ferretti, S/S ’15, backstage at Milan Fashion Week
Last week in Milan, the likes of Gucci, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Alberta Ferretti and Marni showed their collections for spring/summer 2015. And among the many trends including snazzy flat shoes, lots of sheer fabrics and unfussy hair (phew!), was a huge nod to the Seventies.
At Ferretti it was in the hand-crafted flower details and leather fringe; at Emilio Pucci, the vibe was there in crochet vests worn with Seventies slacks, and flower-embroidered tailoring; Gucci’s take centered on an earthy palette and details like lace-up blouses and fur-trimmed gilets; while at Max Mara, Lauren Hutton’s sharp city look was revisited for the 21st Century.
If you’ve bought into this season’s shearling trend, it’s good news because the Seventies aren’t going anywhere.
