Roman designer Giambattista Valli has opened his first British store on Sloane Street, designing the stunning new space as a London home, filled with unique furniture from a range of decades — including the Forties, Fifties and Seventies – sourced at auctions and antique shops, and Valli’s gloriously romantic collections.
The original concept for the store follows in the footsteps of Valli’s Paris and Milan stores so that the stores become a Valli House dedicated to each chosen geographic location. For Sloane Street, this translates as an ode to the style and culture of London without losing the identity and vision that is part of the Maison.
Set over 2,500 square feet space and two floors, the sleek, modern store features endless mirrors and sharp-edged, boxy glass displays and shelving, softened by taupe carpeting and patches of patterned, wooden parquet. There is a huge screen hovering over the staircase and bright green Malachite coffee tables with bronze legs from Maison Charles are paired with a black leather sofa from de Sede, a design staple from the Seventies. It’s all very, very chic.
