With every season that recently appointed Gucci creative director shows for Gucci, we get more and more excited about what’s coming next.
His Gucci girl is more bookish nerd, than the saucy pouting divas that we’ve seen in latter years, but this season, she had more razzamatazz, wearing a sumptuous mix of glittery, flower-embroidered satin, chiffon, Lurex knits, brocades, and trimmings. The shoes alone were detailed beyond belief.
We loved the blown-up pussy bow blouses in candy tones, the near-chaos of his fabric combinations (the map-pring skirt and Oriental floral embroidered bomber jacket, for example), and the ridiculously pretty pale mint blouse that had haphazard ruffles on its shoulders that came with a baby green pleat skirt and flowery belt – it was a girly girl’s fashion fantasy.
Here are a few of our highlights from the show.
