Further proof that the sports luxe trend is here to stay: Giorgio Armani has joined the likes of Chanel and Tom Ford on the team of designer brands transforming trainers into genuinely covetable additions to stylish shoe collections.
Combining his love of both technology and refined aesthetics for a new project called Run, Giorgio Armani has created a line of sneakers for men and women.
Part of the Giorgio Armani accessories collection, the new sneakers have a dynamic and streamlined profile, inspired by the world of running, from which they take their vigorous design. The trainers have extremely lightweight construction, a comfortable fit and, from a technical point of view, the sole is designed to perform like that of a true running shoe: the technical rubber midsole provides lightweight cushioning, the heel stabilizer absorbs shock, and grooves in the tread pattern enhance the shoe’s inflection points.
But the main draw card is far simpler: They look fantastic, whether you’re running laps or running errands in Chelsea. In contrast to the hi-tech look and construction of the sole, is a refined multi-material upper with surprising combinations of fine hides, colours and materials – pony skin, crocodile, felt, suede, and patent leather – in a graphically striking mix. The different combinations of materials give the shoes, available in both men’s and women’s versions, a unique character.
Entirely made in Italy, these sneakers manage to successfully combine artisanal knowledge, technical innovation and the sophisticated elegance of Giorgio Armani’s style.
