Spring/Summer 2019 Trend: Home On The Range

Fashion’s fascination with the Wild West has evolved for spring, now embracing romance with demure prairie styles and pretty bohemian details.

Think patchwork dresses, hand-knit cardigans, plenty of fresh broderie anglais, delicate floral embroidery, with whimsical bohemian details and frills aplenty. And, yes, cowboy boots are still au courant.

At Chanel, Ferragamo and Michael Kors, whip-stitched details and leather fringing added a Navajo twist, while frayed edges at Chloé and Roberto Cavalli underscored the trend’s homespun mood.

The most romantic looks were the all-white dresses, served up with ruffles and frills, as seen at Christian Dior and Alexander McQueen, where the models sported six shooter-ready holster-like belts and stiff leather overskirts that called to mind the riding skirts of frontier heroines.
