On & Around the Street

In the space of 90years, Fendi has gone from a small, artisanal fur and leather studio to a global powerhouse brand and a new book from the Roman house has been published to celebrate this remarkable evolution. In fact, so powerful is it that it hosted the first ever fashion show over the Trevi Fountain in Rome earlier this year.

Fendi Rome, published by Assouline to celebrate 90 years of the Roman mega-brand

Fendi Roma is a paean to 90 years of daring creativity, femininity, cinematic inspiration, innovative techniques and timeless craftsmanship and focus on the future.

It makes use of the Fendi photographic archives, history, identity and the profound link with the city of Rome, that has been since always a great source of inspiration, to explore the brand’s synthesis in 272 pages and more than 300 illustrations.

There are stories in five chapters exploring Fendi’s history and future: the first, “Rome: eternal inspiration”, the second “Creativity: experimentation and innovation”, the third, “Femininity: a fashionable force”, followed by the forth “Ieri oggi domani” (yesterday, today and tomorrow), and lastly the fifth “A family affair”.

Published by Assouline, it is available the Fendi Boutique on Sloane Street now for approximately £165.
