This is it: the perfect leather biker jacket.
Available now for £1,240, the jackets are based on the first motorcycle jacket ever created by Schott. Mr. Irving Schott was the first designer to use a zipper in a jacket when he designed the iconic Perfecto® motorcycle jacket in 1928. It was the first of its kind and was worn by the likes of all-American rebels like Marlon Brando, James Dean, The Ramones and Bruce Springsteen.
That’s quite a roll call. And the star power doesn’t end there. Rag & Bone recruited Rose Gilroy, daughter of actress Rene Russo, to model the jacket.
The women’s jacket is made of chrome-tanned, drum dyed mid-weight cowhide leather which protects the wearer, acting as a second skin. The “D” pocket on the front of the jacket is strategically placed for ease of use, and Schott’s signature bi-swing back panel allows for freedom of movement. Other iconic features include the asymmetrical front zipper, the distinctive star stud, an attached belt, snap down lapels and zippered sleeve cuffs.
Rag & Bone added its own filter to the classic via a more relaxed silhouette, contrasting burgundy zipper tape and elbow patches, and a quilted hunting style red fleece lining, durably crafted to withstand wear and tear.
As the weather turns cooler, now is the ideal time to invest in this versatile trans-seasonal wardrobe staple. And the good news is there’s a men’s style available too.
