The Christmas countdown has started and there’s a whole host of ways to get you feeling festive on Sloane Street, from dedicated festive menus and an afternoon tea with a distinctly Christmassy flavour, to dazzling Christmas lights and a Christmas Shopping Weekend of exclusive treats.
Here are our top six ways to get that festive feeling on Sloane Street…
1. Chelsea Christmas Shopping Weekend
Get all of your Christmas shopping done over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of December, when you can scoop up some delightful exclusive treats and catch up with stylist Martha Ward, who will be offering gifting advice on the Saturday at Boutique 1, Delpozo, Chloé and Hermès. There will be complimentary horse and carriage ride up and down the street and Christmas music guaranteed to get you in the mood from school choirs and swing bands.
2. Lighting Up Chelsea
On November 18th, Chelsea will light up as the Christmas lights are turned on in Sloane Square, Pavilion Road and Duke of York Square. Festivities will kick off at 2 pm, with a host of events for all ages, from reindeer encounters to the arrival of a certain jolly old man…
3. Duke of York Square Food Markets
On Saturday 2nd December, the weekly Duke of York Square Gourmet Food Market will be dedicated to Christmas Fine Foods – think mince pies, rich puddings and candied fruits – while Sunday’s market will be all about Gourmet Gifts – perfect presents for those people who have everything.
4. Afternoon Tea at Jumeirah Carlton Tower
A delightful Festive Afternoon Tea will be served daily in the Chinoiserie at Jumeirah Carlton Tower from 3 pm to 6 pm from 20th November to 1st January, with seasonal treats like a roast Norfolk turkey bridge roll with chestnut crumb and cranberry and date relish; Christmas pudding macaroons and mince pies and custard. £45 per person or £55 including a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne.
5. Fresh Christmas Wreaths
Deck those halls with holly (or whatever flora you prefer!) with a Christmas wreath made from fresh flowers and greenery, made by the talented florists at Jacques Flowers in Duke of York Square or Moyses Stevens on Pavilion Road.
6. Christmas Spirits
We mean the liquid variety. Order an I’m Not The Grinch cocktail, Manicomio’s new festive tipple, and any Grinchiness will be washed away with the scent of nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise and fresh orange. Or head to the newly revamped and reopened Botanist on Sloane Square and order a cocktail from the inventive new list to celebrate a successful afternoon of shopping.
