Inspired by the legend of the Persephone, Casandra Goad’s Persephone bangles are exactly what your summer wardrobe needs.
As Homer tells it, Persephone, the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, was snatched by Hades and spirited from the field where she was gathering flowers away to the Underworld.
Her mother, the Goddess of the Harvest, was outraged and caused crops to die in her grief but Zeus finally forced Hades to return Persephone so that the mortals would stop starving – but not before Hades tricked her into eating the seeds of a pomegranate fruit, the fruit of the Underworld, obliging her to spend the winter months of every year with Hades.
The jewel-like pomegranate seeds that tempted Persephone have been reimagined by Cassandra as beads of coral, turquoise and lapis into a series of stunning bangles that are perfect for highlighting golden summer tans.
Wear with your summer whites or simply to accent your swimsuit by the pool. Of course, when you get back home, they look just as stylish teamed with crisp shirts and urban looks. And the best news? There are earrings to match.
Available at Cassandra Goad now, prices from £1,295. 147 Sloane Street, SW1X 9BZ.
